How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers use a substance called hyaluronic acid to inject moisture back into the skin. This in turn helps the skin appear firmer, more plump, better hydrated, and ultimately, younger and fresher.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a completely natural substance that is not only a common ingredient in skincare products such as moisturisers and serums, but it is also naturally occurring in the skin. The skin starts to produce less hyaluronic acid as we age, however, and this can contribute to the skin beginning to lose elasticity, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Where can dermal fillers be applied?

We can apply dermal fillers to anywhere on the face or neck. Some popular places to focus on include around the nose, eyes, and mouth. They can also be used to help add volume and plumpness to the skin around the cheeks, chin, and jawline.

How long does the treatment take?

This non-surgical treatment takes just half an hour in the chair.

How long do the results last?

Most patients report results lasting for between six and 18 months.

How quickly will I notice the results?

While some patients report noticing results even before they leave the practice, most patients will start to notice results within a few days of the treatment.
